What is a digital architect?
A digital architect is a person of digital knowledge, science, practice and experience combined with a highly creativity and structured approach to digital projects.
Digital Architecture should be considered as specifically pertaining to digitised processes, interactive system architecture and dynamic data driven systems as distinct from processes that do not involve technology.
Why does it matter?
When creating complex digital environments, just like a house which is also made from several elements it is critical to have people who fully understand the implications of every aspect of a project. Plumbers and carpenters should not be allowed to control conceptual strategy, the design process or construction let alone deciding the basis of success, yet this is common in digital. Which is why 70% of all digital, internet, software and intranet projects are failures. So it matters if clients want to succeed.
